Shipping Classic Cars

Shipping your vehicle home can seem like a daunting task and it doesn’t have to be if you keep in mind that you get what you pay for with shipping service.

We no longer coordinate shipping but upon request we will provide you with a list of carriers who have been recently used by our customers.

Here are some examples of how to NOT ship your vehicle.

Why spend all that money on a lovely collector car only to have it hanging off the end of a trailer in the middle of the winter! Come on!

Make sure the driver you hire knows how to drive whatever you buy! Burning out the clutch while trying to make it up a ramp something we see far too often with unqualified drivers. And WHAT THE HECK, dude? A low car like a Ferrari needs long, low ramps. What it doesn’t need is to be spinning its tires on a piece of plywood your driver is using to extend his ramps.

Paying for ENCLOSED shipping is the only way to go unless you don’t care about your vehicle.

Nope, that smashed up Ford did not come from our showroom, the six-figure Chevelle behind the trailer is what was being shipped. Our customer wanted to save a few bucks by sending their car on an open trailer with the lowest bidder. Like we said, you get what you pay for with shipping and this is the perfect example. Not only was it an open hauler putting the vehicle at risk for damage along the way while it traveled from Cleveland out to the east coast, the driver could not even drive the manual transmission vehicle on the trailer. So he had to leave it behind and another carrier had to be booked. We have a great video of the driver trying to make it up the ramp and then bailing!
